About Internet Access Provider

What is Internet Access Provider?

Internet Access Provider is a directory style portal that can help connect people to the companies which provide the public and private sectors access to the Internet (via dialup connections, leased lines, etc.)

Where do the listings come from?

In order to present surfers with a variety of companies, we draw from some of the largest search oriented companies on the net, namely Google's Adwords Advertising Base and the DMOZ Directory. In addition to these two sources, data collected from a variety of other smaller sources comprise the final third of our listings, and is arranged by area code. (These listing can be accessed using the drop down menu in the navigation labled, 'Providers by Area Code'.)

Can you explain the Google Ads, at the top of each page, in detail?

The listings at the top of some of the pages (to the left of the navigation and under the link that says 'Ads by Google') are paid advertisements. Google uses search-based technologies to match these advertisements to the content and context of our web pages - so the ads you see are related to the information you are viewing. The ads come from Google's base of AdWords advertisers. These advertisers range from global brand name companies to small local businesses. If you would like to find out more about this text based advertising service, or how Google's sales team can help you reach your online advertising goals, please click here. Please note, while these listings are being dynamically generated and being presented to our surfers on our site, we do not have any control over what ads are being shown. If you have any comments about what ads are (or are not) being shown on our site, please click the link that says 'Ads by Google', at the top of the ads in question, and follow the directions on the Google feedback form.

Can you tell me more about DMOZ?

Open Directory Project, located at www.DMOZ.org, is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web and is a compilation of many different editors' contributions.  Netscape Communications Corporation (`Netscape') owns the copyright to the compilation of the different contributions, and makes the Open Directory available to us to use under the `Open Directory License'. The Open Directory was founded in the spirit of the Open Source movement, and is the only major directory that is 100% free. The Open Directory powers the core directory services for the Web's largest and most popular search engines and portals, including Netscape Search, AOL Search, Google, Lycos, HotBot, DirectHit, and hundreds of others, such as the one you are visiting now. For more information about how to add your site to DMOZ, click here. If you are interested in becoming an editor, click here.

Where do the rest of the listings come from?

About 1/3 of the listing found on this site are the result of spidering hundreds of other sources on the web. In all cases, the sites themselves were visited to extract the Titles and Descriptions offered by the authors of the sites in question, and these listings were then made available to the public here without further editorial review or intervention.
